Folding Wall Mounted Reading Light in Wood and Black
A black spot head capped with solid wood, carried on a two-part arm that folds back on itself. Extended, it reaches 26 cm from the wall; folded, it sits almost flat. That range is what separates wall mounted reading lights from fixed sconces — you bring the light to the page instead of arranging yourself around it.
Two hinges plus a tilting head
The arm pivots at the plate and again at the elbow, and the head tilts on its own joint. Swing it out over a bed, fold it away in the morning, or turn it up to bounce light off the ceiling. Nothing needs to be unscrewed to change position, so the fitting adapts night to night.
Warm wood against matte black
Solid wood on the head and iron everywhere else — the two-material approach that keeps a black fitting from looking severe. At 5–10 m² of coverage with a neutral white LED, it is bright enough for a study or a home office, and calm enough for a bedside. Like most wood wall lights, it sits easily with oak furniture and pale walls.

How far does it fold back?
The two arm sections close against each other, bringing the head back close to the plate. Useful in a narrow bedroom or beside a doorway where a fixed 26 cm projection would be in the way.
Is neutral white right for a bedroom?
Neutral white is clearer and more alert than warm white — better for a study, a home office or focused reading. If you want a softer bedtime glow, choose a warm white fitting instead.
Does it need an electrician?
Yes. It wires into your mains supply rather than plugging into a socket, so a qualified electrician should install it.

Which bulb do I need for my bedside lamp?
Most of our bedside lamps use a standard E27 (large screw) or E14 (small screw) fitting — you'll find the exact base type in the Specifications table above. All fittings are standard in the UK, so bulbs are easy to find in any supermarket or online. For a bedside lamp we recommend a warm white bulb (2700K) between 25W and 60W equivalent: it gives the soft, cosy glow a bedroom needs, rather than the cold light of a work lamp.
Can I use an LED bulb with this lamp?
Yes. All our lamps work with LED bulbs, and we actually recommend them: an LED uses up to 90% less energy than a traditional bulb, stays cool to the touch and lasts 15,000+ hours. Choose a warm white LED (2700K) for a relaxing bedside light, and a dimmable LED if you plan to use a dimmer.
How long does delivery take in the UK?
Your order is prepared and dispatched within 24 to 48 hours. Delivery across the UK then typically takes 7 to 12 working days, and every parcel is sent with tracking — you'll receive your tracking number by email as soon as your lamp ships, and you can follow it at any time on our Track Your Order page.
What if the lamp doesn't suit my bedroom?
No problem. You have 14 days from delivery to change your mind and return your lamp for a refund. Check the dimensions in the Specifications table before ordering to make sure it fits your nightstand — and if you're unsure whether a style will work in your room, our team is happy to advise before you buy.
Are your lamps safe and UK compatible?
Yes. Every lamp we sell is CE certified and designed to work with standard UK plugs, sockets and bulbs. Fabric and wood models use heat-safe fittings, and we recommend LED bulbs for the coolest, safest operation — especially for children's night lights.
